The weekend has come and gone, and has left me without a shred of energy, and personally I blame the English and Irish (and if I were to be honest, myself).
My weekend started on Thursday night when I went out for originally a few quiet drinks and food, but ended in a mild hangover and not enough sleep (read more here…)
Friday night was Nicks going away party, as he’s taking a bag and going to Chile which is impressive. The office will be quiet without him as he was the loudest one there (and also the resident DJ).
The night started out at a pool hall on Brunswick Street. Kinda a seedy place but was really good with 30 people from work there. We pretty much has free reign over the tables which was great so there was never ending games. As a result I was busy playing pool all night (and sucking like there was no tomorrow) and not drinking too much.
We went for food at some giant food hall place which was a little weird but the food was good. Then we went for drinks at another place till we got the ‘go away lights’ (when they turn all the lights in the place on much to the pain of your eyeballs). This pain was easily remedied by evacuating to the street and ending up in another pub I don’t remember where. The night ended at 3am.
The next day I felt suprisingly good. I had a mild headache throughout the day but that didn’t stop me from going out and having fun.
Leanne, Andy, Emma and I escorted Andy to the dentist at about 11 in the morning. While he was getting his face pulled apart, we went and had breakfast across the road which was fantastic. An hour later Andy was back in one piece and we headed back home where we filled the Esky with beer, grabbed the football (soccer ball) and went down to St. Kilda Botanical Park.
The day was freaking beautiful. I wore shorts and a t-shirt for the first time in months. I loved it. We made some phone calls and our party grew by 4 with 2 more English (Tim and Ruth who are back woohoo!) and 2 more Irish.
Emma is a frizbee player so we through that around and then Andy and I kicked a ball. Mostly the day was spent sitting in the sun drinking beer and listening to music.
When the weather got too cold we went back to our apartment with beer in hand and started drinking. The night progressed with a lot of Michael Jackson and a lot of dancing mixed with a lot of alcohol. Truth be told I drank and a very slow pace throughout the night and didn’t really get too drunk. Once the music taste started to turn from bad to worse Emma and I hid out on the balcony and chatted and avoided the alcohol.
As Emma had to get up early (and it was already 2am) I let her crash in my bed, which left me to wait for the Irish (now singing traditional Irish tunes) to vacate the couch, a.k.a my bed for the night. Eventually they moved and I finally got to sleep around 3am for the 2nd night in a row, but not after watching an episode of Futurama hehe.
In the morning I woke up when Emma got up to leave at 9am, had a quick toasted sandwich with her, layed back down to watch some more Futurama and promptly fell back asleep till 1pm. After realising I’ve pretty much wasted a whole day, I organised to catch up again with Emma and we went for a wander along St. Kilda beach until we just about froze. We then made our way back to Carlisle Street where we cought up with Lea, Andy, the dirty stalker Shannon (I can say that cus she won’t read this and therefor I won’t get belted hehe), and Shannons friend for food. While waiting emma and I played poker using ripped up newspaper as money.
After food we came home, watched The Hangover (apt after the previous few days), chatted then went to sleep (shame it was Midnight when I got to sleep again).
Anyway long story short. My weekend was long, and I’m tired. That’s kinda the point I was aiming for.
I need food so this is the end of my story.
Good night

Holy blog-post from hell! Good one
Glad to see you’re keeping busy!
